Description:
This 2008 Class B+ RV is based upon a 2007 Chevrolet cut out van with dual rear wheels. It is wider than a standard Class B because it has an additional 8" bump out on each side making the interior much more spacious without adding the complexity of a slide out. It is very similar but slightly larger than the Mercedes diesel based Serenity.
The Chevrolet 6 liter, 300 horsepower engine is rock solid, reliable, and the Libero can tow up to 5000 pounds. Although the Mercedes based RVs get slightly better mileage, that is more than offset by higher diesel/DEF prices and Mercedes maintenance costs. We loved the idea that we would never get stuck trying to find someone to work on the diesel Mercedes. The generator runs on gasoline so you don't have to worry about running out of propane. The onan generator has 200 hours on it and was serviced this summer.
The sofa in the back electrically lowers to make a queen bed. The front bench seats also easily make into a bed of about the same size. We have slept on both so you can easily sleep 4 adults.
Both the chassis and the cabin a/c and heat work great. Since we are usually plugged in at the campsite electricity we have not used the propane heater. The stove is propane. We have used it a few times and it works fine. We tend to use the microwave/convection oven for most of our cooking so the propane tank is almost full. The Dometic 3 way refrigerator works great and will keep things frozen in the freezer. We have used it on 12 volts while traveling and 120 volts at the campsite but have never used it on propane. The house batteries are brand new.
