hi,
i have a 8' by 24' enclosed car hauler and a 03 ford f250 4x4. someone told me this weekend that i need a weight distribution hitch. why do i need one and what do they do exactly? the guy didn't say why i needed one, he just said that i really should look into getting one for my setup.

It depends on what how much weight you normally carry in the trailer. The easiest way to figure out if you need a weight distribution hitch is to take a look at the trailer while it's loaded and see if it looks level front to back.
If it dips down in the front, more than likely you need a WDH. If the back of your tow vehicle is dipping down, then you are losing front wheel contact and you definitely need a WDH. |
