I'm looking to purchase an enclosed trailer for my motorcross bike. I know that a open trailer would be less expensive but I feel that the added security of having the bike out of site would be worth it.

A few questions. Is a 6x10 too small. Should I look at 6x12 models?

Also, should I consider ramp door or double doors. I plan on hauling more than just my bike. Any pros or cons for the different type doors?

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doc

Doc,

A 6x10 wouldn't be too small for one or two mx bikes. However, if you're purchasing new, a 6x12 usually isn't that much more than a 6x10. You may want to take that into consideration. If you're buying used and have found a 6x10 at a decent price, you can't go wrong there either.

As for ramp or double doors it's really a matter of preference. IMO, the ramp door is nice to have. With a ramp door, you won't have to worry about carrying a separate ramp to load/unload your bike. The same goes for anything that you plan on loading with a dolly.

One caveat with a ramp is space- you have to allow more to let down the ramp than you would to open double doors. Most enclosed trailers come with a side door if you need to retrieve something from the trailer so you don't have to worry about letting down the ramp.

Derek is correct. The price is normally $100-$200 difference
from a 6x10- 6x12 If you have no storage issues the extra 2 feet is worth it. I would also recommend extra 6" height. It's only an
extra $75.00 (average) and being able to stand up is really nice.
most 6x10-6x12 you can't stand up all the way.
