***THIS TRAILER HAS BEEN SOLD***
Doolittle 5X10 V-Nose Bullitt trailer, custome built for me by Doolittle Trailers. Features a 6" drop Torsion Axle which allows 6" more interior height, while still allowing it to fit in a standard 1 car garage. The Torsion Axle provides a very smooth ride so the planes and equipment arern't bounced around. Side vents instead of a top vent also keeps the overall height lower. I had it built with two side doors. I had them install 24" doors (instead of the normal 32" doors) and I had them install them as far forward as possible so I could have a longer shelf in the middle. The two doors make it very easy to reach in from either side to secure the aircraft for transport. It also allows access regardless of what side is against the wall when parked in a two car garage. Exterior upgrades include: 24" Diamond Plate Gravel Guard installed on the nose and the sides of the trailer for extra protection, the fenders are also made with Diamond Plate metal. A pivoting jack with wheel is mounted on the front of the trailer. Radial tires and a spare tire. LED exterior Lights. One touch aluminum door holders. White Aluminum interior skin on the doors. The interior is completely finished out with a white foam insulated ceiling and white painted walls.
This keeps the interior cooler in the summer and makes it very bright inside the trailer, which makes it easy to see inside the trailer. The interior is completely lighted by LED lights that run completely around the inside of the trailer. These lights are mounted on a trim piece so they are not visible and they are pointing up which keeps them from blinding you. The lights are controlled by 3-way switches so they can be turned on/off from the front or the rear of the trailer. An additional light is mounted on the ceiling which is powered by the tow vehicles electrical system. The trailer is completely self powered by an on-board deep cycle battery and an on-board battery charger which charges the on-board battery when the trailer is in the garage. The interior electrical system features hidden 12 gauge wiring to four different 12 volt charge boxes (each charge box is on it's own circuit) the charge boxes are located on each side of the trailer both at the rear doors and the front doors. This allows chargers to be used at basically any location in the trailer. The charge boxes feature female banana plugs for powering chargers, teh rear charge boxes also have a female deans plug. A included 2016 Honda 1000 watt generator will allow the trailer to be charged while away from commercial (A/C) power. The trailer has a shelf that utilizes teh Vertical E-track mounting system. The shelf has 2 feet of available height adjustment. The shelf has a quick release system that allows height adjustments in seconds, or the shelf can be completely removed by one person in a couple of minutes. The floor of teh trailer and the shelf is carpeted with 24" rubber backed carpet squares. The carpet squares provide some padding but are easily removed and replaced if damaged (a box of extra carpet squares is included) The trailer has room for 2 50cc-100cc planes on the shelf and 35%-43% planes on the floor, custom machined aluminum plane mounts are included for transporting 4 planes. These mounts have rounded interiors so that the wheels don't develop flat spots. Located on the rear doors are 6 steel baskets for storing equipment (charges, call sheets, etc.) Ball drivers in both Metric and SAE are mounted on the left rear door as well as a 18 piece screwdriver/torx set. 4 additional storage baskets are mounted on the inside of teh V. The left front door has a mirror (helpful for applying sunscreen), First Aid Kit, Fire Extinguisher, and a digital clock with thermometer plus two additional storage baskets. Steel mounts with bungee cords secure two fuel cans, toolbox, and the generator to the floor at the front of the trailer. The same type of mounts secure the wing and stab bags on each side of the trailer, both above and below the shelf. Mounts on the v-nose secure a 2-meter sailplane and 2 small foamies. The trailers lower height really helps with wind drag and it only lowers the tow vehicle mileage and 2 mpg. The trailer has always been garaged, it actually has only spent one night outdoors. It has been pulled less than 400 miles total.
